One of the best THAI'm of my life

Have you ever felt being close to a movie scene or a pinterest photo? Limestone cliffs, temples, animals, good food and forests. Those are few of my favorite things in the world. Phuket has always been in my bucket list and it has all the things mentioned above.  I thought Phuket is mainly about beaches, but no, there are lots of things to do there and to see. I went there October 2016. I stayed in Phuket for 6 days. I want to share with you what we did in Phuket.

I wanna talk about what we did, where we ate and where to stay in Phuket because a lot of my friends ask me about my itinerary every time I post a throwback photo. :) So here it is!

WHAT TO DO IN PHUKET:

1.) RIDE A FAST BOAT GOING TO THE ISLANDS OF PHI PHI OR THE MAYA BAY

WHY FAST BOAT? Because its far! Check the map. :) Are you familiar with the movie "The beach"? It was filmed here! Yup, I was really a fan of that movie. I fell involve with their setting so I went here to see it to myself. It was amazing. Yup, a lot of people will say that it is crowded, a lot of boats are noisy on the shore and so on and so on. I'm sorry but for me its still amazing. All the beaches has its own beauty, I came from a country with lots of beautiful beaches, I can say that this one is like our very own Palawan. The waters were so clear, but not as clear as our Palawan (No 1 beach in the world). And oh, I almost forgot to say, those long boats were pretty amazing too!

It was a stunner! I loved it! I left my heart right here. When I watched Moana, I can say that Tafiti is like Maya Bay.

2.) VISIT THE POPULAR JAMES BOND ISLAND

James Bond Island is a famous landmark in Phang Nga Bay. It first found its way onto the international tourist map through its starring role in the James Bond movie 'The Man with the Golden Gun'. A distinctive feature of this famous bay is the number of sheer limestone cliffs that vertically jut out of the emerald-green water.

Well, for some people it may just be a limestone cliff standing there. For me, its more than that. It was so pretty and I can't take my eyes off that limestone rock. I felt like I was on a Pinterest photo.

We really searched for a high area where you can take this photo. We went on a little trek, climbed on some rocks and balanced on some edges just to see this view. Well, lucky enough we were able to pull off our desired shots here. We even asked a foreigner to take photo for us. It was just us and that one guy who took this photo on this picture spot. A lot of people are on the right side of this photo (not seen). Yes lots of tourists, but I tell you, you just need to look for that perfect spot to take photos and enjoy the view. :)

With my very own James Bond :)

3. RELAX AND GO SCUBA DIVING AT KHAI ISLAND

There are hammocks, beach chairs and nipa huts to cool down.

They will offer variety of fresh fruits and water if you are on a tour. (like us)

You can also talk to some locals and socialize. :) I swear its awesome. Here's my boyfriend enjoying a small talk with some foreigners who became our friends during the trip.

I love Scuba diving so much, I use to dive in Anilao Batangas, and it has always been my bucket list to dive also in other country, so I gave it a try. :) It was awesome!

4. RIDE A CANOE ALONG PHANG NGA AND EXPLORE THE DIFFERENT CAVES AND ISLETS

This photo was around Ko Phanak. Its a small island but its so amazing because the limestone cliffs are stunning!

This was taken at the Hong Island. There are small caves that you need to bend your head and even lie down on your canoe just to pass through. :) I was really scared but our guide assured us that we're safe and we are riding a sturdy canoe. Yup, someone paddles for us. The waves sometimes are a bit strong, so it really needs a professional maneuver.

On the islands, you'll see lots of images. We saw elephant shaped limestones and even piranha shaped ones. :) They were amazing! Nature always do its magic.

Say hi to the man who paddles our boat! Thank you! :)

5. VISIT KO LAWA YAI OR THE MONKEY BEACH

Yup, it was indeed a monkey beach! Just make sure to take care of your belongings like your hat, phones and camera. They look very hungry and always excited everytime there are tourists.

6. ENJOY THE CRUISE ALONG PHANG NGA

I felt like I was on a movie. It was beyond my expectations. :)

7. MEET THAI ELEPHANTS

This was taken in Puchada Safari. You can also enjoy an elephant ride with them. But if I were you I won't ride. I had regrets of riding it. Yes I'm sorry. But its okay, during my trip to Cambodia I didn't tried riding the elephants. I'm sorry, our ride only took place for 10 mins. I will never do it again. :(

You can just play with them and feed them! In Chiang Mai, there are lots of elephant companies who offers being a "mahout" for a day. Yes you will be with them for a day. You can feed them and bathe them. I'll do it probably soon when I go back. But just feeding these gentle giants made my day. I will never forget that experience.

8. VISIT THE KARON VIEW POINT

Karon Viewpoint (which used to be Kata viewpoint) is one of the most frequented viewpoints in Phuket. From here, it is possible to take in views of Kata Noi, Kata Yai and Karon beaches.

We went here early morning. No tourists. THE VIEW POINT ALL TO OURSELVES. It was beautiful!

9. VISIT THE PROMTHEP CAPE

Sweeping views of the beach! It was a perfect afternoon!
And the popular picture spot! When we went here, there were several wedding pre-nup shoots happening. They just allowed us to take photos first before them. :)

10. VISIT THE BIG BUDDHA AND LEARN ABOUT HIS TEACHINGS

I'm a Catholic but I'm always a fan of Buddhism. It was a tough walk going here. It was uphill. But then, I had to go up. We even saw monks on their monasteries. Beside this temple are their monasteries.

I LOVED HIS FIVE PRECEPTS (This is their  part of the buddhist practices to become more self-disciplined.)
1. Abstain from taking lives of all beings.
2. Abstain to what is not given or stealing.
3. Abstain from sexual misconduct.
4. Abstain from telling lies and harsh speech.
5. Abstain from intoxicants or harmful substances.

Phuket's Big Buddha is one of the most important and revered landmarks on the island. The huge image sits on top of the Nakkerd Hills between Chalong and Kata and, at 45 metres tall, can be seen from as far away as Phuket Town and Karon Beach.

11. VISIT THE WAT CHALONG TEMPLE

I'm always a fan of temples. A lot of people finds it weird but I really love looking at how intricate the designs were. I saw the variations of temples around Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Honkong and Thailand. They were all different! The oldest ones are the ones in Cambodia. The new ones are the ones where people are still bowing their heads and praying.

Just make sure to dress up properly. Wear something long. :) But sorry I'm still inappropriate. I'm wearing off shoulders.

WHERE TO EAT IN PHUKET?

I suggest EAT LIKE A LOCAL! There's nothing more fulfilling when traveling than that. Try their must eats on their markets and on the streets! It will also help you save a lot of Money. My personal favorite along Patong beach is the Loma Market.

Its like a foodpark in the Philippines. But on a cheaper note! They sell lots of local thai dishes like pad thai and satay chickens. :) You can dine in under their hip lights while listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. Yes, Loma market is near the beachfront. :)

Really yummy! I think our meal was just around 300 pesos for the two of us.

You should also try their crepe. You can find them on the streets. It was yummy!

Tadaaa! I ate it on my room of course. :)

Set breakfasts on the streets. :) This was our first meal. It was so cheap. You can choose from rice to local delicacies.

I also love FREE BREAKFAST! :) Yes, we stayed on a hotel in Patong where they serve free breakfast buffet! I loved their jams, mixed fruits, and soups!

We stayed on a hotel with free breakfast for 2 days, it was awesome! :) Imagine you don't need to spend for your breakfast! I will share with you later our accommodations!

STREET FOOD! We had some meat skewers with some rice. Ugh! I will never forget that experience. We had dinner on a mat in front of the beach. Eating like a local indeed! :)

Who loves ribs? We do! This was a heaven for us! Ribs on the streets! Yup you heard it right! You can buy just half slabs! Very cheap! Pair it with some beer!

Cruise lunch! YUP! If you book a tour with our local travel guide, it comes with free buffet cruise lunch while cruising around Phang Nga bay! Can't get any perfect!

Street food breakfast! Roti with curry dip, sticky rice, eggs, chicken and some mango sticky rice!

Street food. MORE STREET FOOD! Just bring medicine if your tummy is sensitive! Luckily mine is not! :)

A trip to Thailand will never be perfect without eating mango sticky rice. It was so yummy!

During our last day, we went on a tour with a private driver. We asked him to take us to a cheap restaurant. Unfortunately, he took us to an expensive five star dining. :) We laughed and said "Street food place". Hecan't understand much english but he go us by then. He laughed and said "really? why?". Because, he said that most of the tourists that he drove around wants an expensive food.

We even invited him to eat with us! It was such an experience. :)

Lastly, on your tub! :) Eat on your tub! Some mango sticky rice with their local beer Singha! Yummy!

WHERE TO STAY IN PHUKET?

I'm not sure if the prices are still the same but guys I went there last 2016! Its 2017 already so I think there are changes on the prices. :) We booked everything through agoda and booking.com.

1. Quadromania Hotel - A unique and very cheap hotel! Quadro because its all quadro! Everything in quadro! Everything boxes! Minimalism at its finest! :)
Look at their hallways. :) Very neat and clean! MINIMALIST!

2.  Rayaburi Hotel - I loved them because they are the one who serves free breakfast buffet. We stayed with them for 2 nights. And I enjoyed so much. We even enjoyed their jacuzzi on their rooftop!

Clean and pretty room with a balcony!

Even comes with bath tub.

Rooftop jacuzzi moments

After a long day of beach trips, this is perfect!

Even first thing in the morning! :)

 3. Sea Sun Sand Resort and Spa - This was a dream come true for me. To stay in a hotel with a bath tub on the balcony. Perfect! :)

The hotel was this huge. It was a long walk to our room. We stayed there on the right top part. The highest part of the hotel. :) Because the Deluxe room with whirlpool bath tub is located there. I tell you it was a perfect hotel for me. :)

Look at their swimming pool! All guests have an access to their pool with some free wine. :)

View from our 2nd room. We stayed on a room with no whirlpool tub for a night.

This was our room with whirlpool bath tub facing the ocean!

That's me taking everything in! :)

Morings on this pretty hotel!

Pool hangs!

Enjoying a drink and some mango sticky rice everyday!

We booked our tours with JC TOURS PHUKET. They can arrange it for you! For a no hassle trip! It was cheap! They can customize any kind of trips you like!
